Meet The Judges

Kelli Ann MacCord Lotrich has been a performer since the age of 4. Her coaching career started at 12, training others on violin, as well as instructing dance, cheerleading, and coaching gymnastics to special needs children.  Following scholarship matriculation at The Wittenberg Conservatory for the Arts, DePaul University and Northwestern University, she and her husband, Chip Lotrich, became the youngest Executive Directors in the history of the Miss America Scholarship Program and coached Miss America 1998. In 2002, she became a professional vocal coach for numerous contestants and winners with American Idol, Nashville Star, The Voice, and more. She was asked to become an official reviewer for the online American Idol boards in 2003.  As an entertainer, singer and musician, she has performed on some of the most renowned stages across the country, from Carnegie Hall to the Wildhorse Saloon, as well as for PRIDE in Illinois and New York.  She continues her professional music career as a singer and musician in various projects, including the band Who Knew {}, which she founded in 2007.

Jim Wodjyla is the lead singer of Modern Day Romeos and is also in the acoustic duo Jim and Justin. MDR has been one of the top drawing local bands, while also headlining major festivals, for the past 15 years. MDR primarily plays in Chicagoland, but has also performed internationally in Mexico, Dominican Republic, Jamaica and the Bahamas. He has worked with/performed/maintained relationships with most of Chicago's news media outlets from TV to radio, talent agencies and top local bands. MDR wrote the official song for the Chicago Cubs/WGN in 2014. Jim's primary focus, when performing, is the energy on stage, the personality of the performer and how fast that performer can build a relationship and trust with a crowd to take control of a room. That is what he will be looking for throughout the Big Break competition.

Aaron Streich was banging on pots and pans in Tacoma, Washington until his 6th birthday when he received his first Ludwig snare drum and Zildjian cymbal. From that day forward, his mother's extensive music collection (the Beatles, Yes, Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young, Jimmy Hendrix, The Who, Billy JoelFleetwood Mac, etc.) started him on his way to a life in music. Aaron attended Vincennes University where he majored in Music Performance - studying music theory, sight singing, ear training and music composition while performing in percussion ensemble, jazz band, concert band and blues ensemble. After college, Aaron moved to Bloomington, IN - home to Indiana University (arguably, one of the best music schools in the country) and John Mellencamp.  It was in those 90s where Bloomington’s thriving music scene of rock, jazz, country, rockabilly, and dance led Aaron to become a part of an already successful acoustic duo; Mike and Joe. Aaron has helped Mike and Joe be one of the Midwest’s most highly rated bands for over 20 years, and paired with his six years of Big Break Chicago judging experience, is looking forward to a great year of Big Break Rosemont!
